Seminole County will be shutting down the Ozone production capabilities at the Northwest Water Plant for maintenance. Ozone is primarily used for the removal of Hydrogen Sulfide which produces the “rotten egg” smell in water. We can still achieve this removal with the addition of Sodium Hypochlorite (chlorine), but it requires a higher dose. You may notice a slight change in taste and odor due to the use of extra chlorine. This maintenance is expected to last throughout the week, and should only be noticed as an affect to taste and odor, no boiling is required.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
