Historical Black and White Aerial Photography for Seminole County, Florida
Starting in 1940 with the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS), then a Department of the US Department of Agriculture, a series of aerial photographs was acquired for Seminole County. These ASCS aerials, originally provided and stored as black and white 9" x 9" contact prints, as well as other paper aerial photos collected over the years by Seminole County's Engineering Office have been scanned and provided digitally in the jpg format. The images are not currently geo-referenced and hence cannot have other GIS data layers overlaid without additional processing.
The scanned imagery includes 1940, 1948, 1957, 1962, 1965, 1968, 1972, 1974, 1980, 1983, 1986,1989, 1991, 1992 and 1993 photography. The hard copies are available for review at the County's Engineering Division. You can view or download some of the aerial photography from the link below.

Other Digital Aerial Photography
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in conjunction with various State agencies began acquiring and making available to local Governments, quadrangle based Digital Ortho Quarter Quad (DOQQ) imagery in the early 1980s as part of a program to collect nationwide imagery at a common scale for planning and land management purposes.

Digital aerial photography is available in the Mr.Sid format. Mr.Sid files can be viewed with the free GeoViewer from Extensis or esri's Explorer for ArcGIS. Note: These are external websites and a 3rd party software.
